So, a few little experiments with the latest 64bit version of HandBrake has given me a taste of how quick this latest iMac (i7@2.8Ghz) is going to be in daily use.

HandBrake threading (based on FFmpeg) is quite even handed and even seems to make good use of the hyper-threading capabilities of the i7, note how every other entry is slightly lower, those are each cores second hyper-thread.
